Hey Maria! Where are you from?

Maria Dragus: My family are originally from Romania but I grew up in Germany. It’s still an important part of my identity today, to be able to understand and live effortlessly in two cultures and countries. I'm very thankful for that!

How did you begin modelling?

M.D: I’ve been working in the entertainment industry since I was a child and collaborating with photographers like Daniel gives me the opportunity to express myself through non-moving images. It’s fascinating to be able to look at a photograph and each person will take away something different from it. Doing photoshoots gives me as much excitement as doing movie jobs. I usually work as an actor jobs include "Mary Queen of Scots“ alongside Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie in 2017 and "6 minutes to midnight“ starring Eddie Izzard and Dame Judy Dench which is set to come out early next year.

What is your favourite part of your job?

M.D: Connecting with people and collaborating with different artists.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

M.D: I love learning. There's such a wide range of education that we have access to in the modern world. And I really enjoy taking online extension courses or learning new languages.

What is your favourite F- word?

M.D: "Frumos“, which means "beautiful" in Romanian.
