Belgian designer Raf Simons has become a household name in the fashion world while gathering for himself an avid arm of followers who not only appreciate him for his standpoint in fashion design but for his incredibly unique mind when it comes to menswear. His namesake brand has become one of the most iconic brands in contemporary fashion as well as setting itself as a reference to minimalism soaked in boldness and character.

In June 2019, Simons showcased his Spring/Summer 2020 collection on the runway in Paris during Fashion Week and as you would expect from Raf, the collection was once again a strong statement to his creativity and exquisite approach to conceptualization and craftsmanship. Following the show in Paris, the Belgian designer has recently unveiled the campaign imagery for his S/S'20 campaign shot by the incomparable Willy Vanderperre, a long-lasting friend and collaborator to Raf Simons. The campaign is through and through the perfect expression of Simons' mind and heart as it combines the deep elements of minimalism and emotional depth he has frequently been able to translate into his collections.

The imagery captures a group of models decked in Simons’ latest work, featuring highly-limited printed T-shirts and other various pieces like the sports shorts sporting this season’s key slogan, “RS-LAB.” as seen on the runway.

The focus is also put on the sci-fi-like pieces, such as the colourful Lab Coats and the complementing rubber gloves that add an extra layer of mystery and intrigue to the overall look. The tailored pieces also receive special attention with the emphasis being given to the oversized checkered blazer, the contrast-label suit jacket, and the lightweight blazer that’s finished with a pin-on fabric patch stating “MY OWN PRIVATE ANTWERP."
