MERRELL; SUSTAINABILITY AT THE CORE

WORDS BIANCA NICOLE

In keeping with Merrell’s long-standing commitment to protecting the outdoors for future generations a journey that began in 1981 when the brand was founded by Clark Matis and John Schweizer he Cham Redux Storm GORE-TEX® is crafted with a mindful approach to materials and long-term durability. Since joining Wolverine World Wide in 1997 and further strengthening its pledge in 2018 to justice, equality, diversity, and inclusion, Merrell has continued to evolve with a focus on creating products that support both people and the planet. Today that mission remains central as the brand works to empower all people to explore the outdoors confidently and responsibly.

The Cham Redux Storm GORE-TEX® incorporates recycled elements throughout its construction including laces, webbing, heel pull tabs and footbed materials reducing reliance on virgin resources while maintaining the performance Merrell is known for. Each component is made to last, extending product life and reducing waste over time.

Natural odor control is delivered through Cleansport NXT™, a non-toxic, microbe-based technology that works with the body, limiting the need for chemical treatments and helping maintain freshness sustainably. Combined with the long-wearing rubber outsole and protective GORE-TEX® upper, the Cham Redux Storm GORE-TEX® is built to endure the daily demands of city life without compromising the planet.

By infusing recycled materials, responsible technologies, and an emphasis on durability, the Cham Redux Storm GORE-TEX® reflects Merrell’s ongoing mission to create gear that honours both the wearer and the world they move through.
