Fresh off being named in GRAMMY.com’s Rising LGBTQ Artist roundup, and with her new album it’s just my opinion landing on May 8th, girli is stepping into 2026 with a future as bright as her hair.
For this instalment of A Day in The Life, girli takes us behind the scenes - from everyday rituals to shoot days - while answering a few questions that give us a deeper look at this artist-to-watch.

F Word: For some people, this may be the first time they’re hearing your music. How would you introduce yourself at this point in your life?
girli: Hi! I’m girli. I’m an outspoken pop artist who’s been writing, releasing and touring songs about queerness, feminism, identity, heartbreak, family and friends bullshit, mental health and other stuff for ten years now, and I’m just getting started baby! Join my fanbase (we’re a bit like a cult).
F Word: Fuck, marry, kill: album, EP, or single?
girli: Marry the album, fuck the single, kill the EP.
F Word: If you had to choose a completely new career, unrelated to music, what would it be?
girli: I would like to learn more about the healing properties of different plants and be a forager and healer. But also have an animal sanctuary. Nature and animals bring me the most joy after music.
F Word: If you had to assign a temperature, a colour, and a taste to this album, what would they be?
girli: The album is a slightly chilly but sunny spring temperature, it’s colour is electric blue and it tastes like an iced oat matcha latte, unsweetened.
F Word: The world would be better without _______.
girli: ICE.
F Word: The world would be worse without _______.
girli: Trans folk.
F Word: What do you hope the impact of your music will be?
girli: That people listening feel empowered to give less fucks about assholes and more fucks about their community.
F Word: Out of all the artists featured on F Word, who would you most like to collaborate with?
girli: I feel like me and Upsahl would make something cool.
