This week saw the king of accessories Komono drop their Spring/Summer 2020 capsule collection. Consisting of glasses, watches and eyewear accessories it’s going to make you feel a little blue…but for all the right reasons.

 

Inspiration was drawn from the droughts that occurred in L.A. during the seventies and eighties. These droughts were so severe that it drained hundreds of backyard pools around the city. However, out of these droughts came about a new trend, where the steep sides and smooth surfaces created the perfect platform for skateboarders to perform, a concrete craze that still remains strong today. 

 

Youthful, playful and uplifting, the campaign imagery depicts a bold backdrop with cool, carefree models. Reminiscent of waves, choosing such a lifting, light colour creates a summer-worthy ‘pop’ for any wardrobe. Whilst mirroring the structure of the empty pool is the pleasing curved frames of the ‘Ana’ and the harsh lines of the ‘Avery’. It is certainly a collection that provides both fashionability and functionality.
