LAYERED was created in memory of Leia - a space for trans and non-binary creativity, reflection, and storytelling across time and culture.

This story by Taliesin Wintle draws on the traditional Welsh folk tale of Taliesin to explore transgender theory through the lens of personal experience. The project mirrors the shapeshifting of Gwion Bach into Taliesin, reflecting a journey of growth, transformation, and self-reclamation. By reconnecting with heritage and folklore, Taliesin not only heals inner shame but also humanises the trans narrative, linking past and present through myth, identity, and becoming.

It is a reminder that stories, like people, are layered, evolving, and alive - and that the act of retelling can be an act of pride and reclamation.
