F Word's newest editorial, photographed by Colette Slater Barrass, is titled "Solstice." It refers to the beginning of both summer and winter in many cultures, symbolising the cyclical change and balance between light and darkness. Teaming up with stylist Claire Louise Thorn, the project captures this duality through innovative fashion with an otherworldly aesthetic.
The series employs dark, dramatic lighting to create a sense of mystery and depth, casting the subjects, Yeri Lee and Blue French from Storm models, in an ethereal glow that highlights the intricate hand-stitched details of the designs. The shoot features three earth-toned backdrops, providing a perfect canvas to showcase the seasonal transition. The makeup by Katherine Thomas and hair styling by Gaia Bezbradica draw inspiration from various eras, creating fluid and timeless looks that enhance the ethereal atmosphere.
