It doesn't even seem that long ago, and in fact, it wasn't, since the ever-expressive and incredibly captivating A$AP NAST collaborated with American clothing and apparel giant Converse. Set past Spring, NAST first collaborated on the Jack Purcell Mid where the aim was to re-imagine one of the most iconic Converse silhouettes born as badminton shoes nearly 85 years ago. From there, NAST and converse reinvented the design and upgraded it into a utilitarian style statement informed by NAST's love of nature.
Following the success of the first installment, NAST teams up with Converse once again to release the latest interpretation of the Jack Purcell Mid. This time around, NAST presents a fresh graphic take on the silhouette one that is clearly and boldly expressive of his very own artistic identity. The design and graphics added to the silhouette look back to NAST's own childhood as growing up, he often ‘played with fire’ both literally and figuratively as a form of rebellion, one that has grown and developed across the years and resulting in the fire-blasting personality NAST serves the world with. Over time, he became astutely aware of how his creativity and actions could spark a reaction.
This latest drop comes in corduroy wale with an appliqué reflective flame print across its upper, complemented by a dual-branded logo on the sock liner and Jack Purcell license plate. The colorway is formed by the red and black styles with iconic Converse rubber detailing and finish as well as a t-shirt and long-sleeve with "Playing with fire since 1990" on it.
The Converse x A$AP Nast Jack Purcell Mid will launch in these two colorways on 5th December, alongside the short and long sleeve tees that read, Playing with Fire Since 1990.
