“Beach Coma” is part of photographer and director Millie Clark’s extended series “Tangerine Dreams”, which stemmed from a personal fascination and appreciation of ginger hair that's reflected through Millie's subjects.
In Clark’s own words: As I delved deeper, I looked into the rich history and cultural references associated with this unique hair colour. This exploration served as the foundation for conceptualising editorial shoots that would evoke a sense of nostalgia through my playful style of editorials. The chosen beach location evokes cherished memories of my childhood spent at my grandparents' residence. Infused with playfulness through the use of props such as flippers and crabbing lines, this series seamlessly integrates high-end garments sourced from small businesses, along with a fun yet sophisticated aesthetic. This project serves as an integral part of the larger collection titled "Tangerine Dreams," which celebrates the enhancement of natural beauty and exalts the notion that rarity is something to be cherished.
