BOYHOOD UNATTENDED

PHOTOGRAPHY, FASHION + ART DIRECTION FILIPE PHITZGERARD - GROOMING SHAMIRAH SAIRALLY

In his continuous pursuit for the most romantic yet eloquent portrayal of youth, F Word Magazine's editor, Filipe Phitzgerard, unveils his latest visual composition. Titled "Boyhood Unattended" Phitzgerard sought to capture his three favorite boyhood elements: tenderness, vulnerability, and angst. Featuring Plymoth-based actor, Cary Ryan, this is a venture into a new creative layer for Phitzgerard as he sees himself directing and photographing while maintaining a dialogue with Ryan in order to capture the real boy behind the boy. Boyhood Unattended takes inspiration from Pink Floyd's worldly famous track "We Don't Need No Education" to form its fashion references. Phitzgerard strips back from the severe schoolboy look while maintaining some of the most iconic British pieces such as the chequered suit jackets and accessories.
