reflecting isolation

F WORD: What are your top 5 interests?

JARED COLTON: I am into basketball, running, videography/photography, and astrology.

F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing?

JARED COLTON: I have been trying to stay positive and productive. It’s just very unsettling being stripped of your freedom. You never thought you would have to give up basic day-to-day routines as we are doing at the moment.

F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind?

JARED COLTON: I’ve been doing workouts at home and spending most of my time with family which is honestly very nice and comforting with all of this going on.

F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic?

JARED COLTON: It’s hard to hear about it anymore at this point. That’s all the media consists of at the moment although with very valid reasons. It’s just become very difficult to watch the news anymore or look for updates. I’m just making sure I take the necessary precautions to protect my family and myself.

F WORD: What are your thoughts on how your government and the world are dealing with it?

JARED COLTON: I think governments, in general, are trying to do their best. It is a difficult one because we've not experienced this before so a lot of what is being done is as a trial and hopefully, it will work out. I do feel like many people are coming together at this time. Unfortunately, since we can’t exactly connect as much in person at this time, I’ve still seen a lot of positivity through social pages and such which make me happy and I feel like when we do get past all of this many people will be more optimistic and grateful about things they may have taken for granted in the past.

F WORD: What is the best thing you’ve been able to do since isolation?

JARED COLTON: I’ve replayed all the video games from my childhood, PlayStation 1 and 2 games, GameCube... you name it!

F WORD: What do you miss the most right now (due to isolation)?

JARED COLTON: Being able to get my gym fix in. Although, I have continued to stay productive in the best ways I can, going to exercise in a gym has become so routine for me and the situation we face now has just forced me to adapt to the circumstances.

F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time?

JARED COLTON: 'In My Room' by Frank Ocean (pun intended).

F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation?

JARED COLTON: Naruto Shippuden has been my show of choice lately.

F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others:

JARED COLTON: Stay positive! Figure some things out about yourself that you may not normally have had the time to put the energy into doing. Think about things you typically avoid in life and challenge yourself in new ways mentally. With the right attitude, this time can be used as an opportunity for growth rather than a burden.
