MODELS REFLECT ISOLATION: JACK BLANCO

JACK BLANCO, 18, Surrey at Menace

reflecting isolation

F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing? JACK BLANCO: Honestly, better than I thought I would! For me, it started off uneasy but I’m getting used to it and starting to kinda like it.

F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind? JACK BLANCO: The plan was to use the time to focus on myself, do some painting, drawing and finish off some coursework. However, all I’ve done so far for the last week is wake up at 1 pm, eat, watch Netflix and sleep again…

F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic? JACK BLANCO: I’m neutral, I think it’s a testing time for everyone, but we should just do what we have to do and ride it out.

F WORD: What are your thoughts on how our government and the world is dealing with it? JACK BLANCO: I think our government is dealing with it correctly, although, I think they should’ve imposed a stricter lockdown sooner. As for the rest of the world; it seems like they are all doing sensible things, with the exception of Donald Trump; which is predictable if anything.

F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time? JACK BLANCO: I think ‘Nocturne for Strings and a Conversation’ by Mura Masa or ‘#3’ by Aphex Twin are perfect. Perhaps because of the summer weather we’ve been having!

F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation? JACK BLANCO: Definitely check out ‘Money Heist (La Casa de Papel)’ on Netflix, although in Spanish, it’s a great series and has a new season coming out in April.

F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others: JACK BLANCO: 'Whatever Will Be Will Be’, not so much of a hopeful statement but true.

F WORD: Favourite f-word: JACK BLANCO: Fiesta! – because who doesn’t love a good party…
