MODELS REFLECT ISOLATION: MARISA MARTINS

MARISA MARTINS, London at Contact Agency

reflecting isolation

F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing?

MARISA MARTINS: I’ve been dealing with it since the middle of March. I work in retail and felt a massive decline in customers. My store shut until further notice since the 20th March and I’ve been at home ever since.

F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind?

MARISA MARTINS: I’ve come up with a hashtag on my Instagram called #homeitinerary where I’ve been giving myself tasks to complete to stay active and productive through Monday-Friday. All those years of always wishing I had time to get things done has come in the strangest way.

F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic?

MARISA MARTINS: In one word: confused.

F WORD: What are your thoughts on how our government and the world is dealing with it?

MARISA MARTINS: It’s very scary and also surreal it doesn’t seem real at times. But I’m hopeful that things will be ok and I think that our government and the NHS are doing a great job so far from supporting the country and its people.

F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time?

MARISA MARTINS: Ummmm maybe 'I Want To Break Free' by Queen, it's a bit of tongue and cheek to keep me smiling at this moment and time.

F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation?

MARISA MARTINS: I recently watched 'A Quiet Place' again and it reminded me of what a great movie it is. Netflix series 'I’m Not Ok With This' by Buddy Enright and Rand Geiger is short and brilliant. I’m currently reading 'The Binding' by Bridget Collins and I’m hooked.

F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others:

MARISA MARTINS: Use this crazy time to connect with others, yourself and do those things you never could with the fast pace of London life.

F WORD: Favorite F-word:

MARISA MARTINS: Fancy! I fancy eating everything at a time that I can’t leave the house and stores take two weeks to deliver.
