LOUIS HARTLEY, 23, London at Select
F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing?
LOUIS HARTLEY: It’s a very sad and uncertain time. But I’m appreciating the free time that I’m getting as I usually work a 5-day week in floristry with my cousin with modelling in between. So, I’m making the most of that and trying to do something positive with it.
F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind?
LOUIS HARTLEY: With my time I’ve been working on some ideas that I’ve been meaning to do for a while. I’ve also done a lot of cycling and training. And learning to cook... I miss my barber, though.
F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic?
LOUIS HARTLEY: It really became sort of real to me as it was reported on a lot more and the death tolls in Italy were released. It showed how serious it all really is and I think that was when I felt this whole thing was real.
F WORD: What are your thoughts on how the government and the world are dealing with it?
LOUIS HARTLEY: Personally, I think our approach to it in the UK is quite good. People just need to take notice of it and respect the rules and realise how serious it all is and appreciate the freedom we still have. But from a business point of view, it’s a very stressful time at the minute and I feel for all the freelancers and musicians etc that are affected by it.
F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time?
LOUIS HARTLEY: This depends on the day. But I’ve been listening to the newest Omar S album on repeat.
F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation?
LOUIS HARTLEY: 'Fahrenheit 451' is a very good book. Just over halfway and I’d really recommenced it. Quite fitting with how things are in the world at the moment too.
F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others:
LOUIS HARTLEY: Keep your head up. Make something positive out of this negative situation.
F WORD: Favourite F-word:
LOUIS HARTLEY: Family!
