MODELS REFLECT ISOLATION: COLTON KEY

reflecting isolation

F WORD: What are your top 5 interests?
COLTON KEY:
Gaming, skiing, ranching, fishing, and drawing.

F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing?
COLTON KEY:
I’ve been handling it pretty well, just keeping in touch with my friends on social media. In times like these, I feel fortunate to live in such a small town where there aren’t many people so I’m not as directly affected by the situation like those who live in a big city.

F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind?

COLTON KEY: Videogames are an easy way for me to stay occupied but I’ve also been making sure I keep up with my school work, doing puzzles, drawing, working out, and when I need to get some fresh air I go outside and practice archery.

F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic?
COLTON KEY:
I am a senior in high school so it has had a huge effect on what was supposed to be one of the best years of my life. However, I know I am only one person so I know to look at the bigger picture and remind myself that this virus is affecting everyone in the world and, eventually, it will pass; so I do my best to just stay optimistic and remain grateful for mine and my family’s health.

F WORD: What are your thoughts on how your government and the world are dealing with it?
COLTON KEY:
I feel like everyone has been doing the best they can with the whole situation. We all hear stories from people like grandparents who lived during the Depression and World Wars and we don’t ever think that something like that could happen to us in the blink of an eye. The virus hit so suddenly and nobody really expected how much of an impact it would have and the threat it would have on our country. I think the Government has done a good job responding quickly by taking actions such as limiting travel and cancelling events with large groups of people. Everyone around the world is doing a great job of trying to keep each other safe and optimistic for a bright future after the virus passes.

F WORD: What is the best thing you’ve been able to do since isolation?

COLTON KEY: Spend time with my family. With everything locked down, it’s been giving us a great chance to spend some quality time with one another.

F WORD: What do you miss the most right now (due to isolation)?
COLTON KEY:
Just simple things like being social. I love going to the movies and seeing all my friends at school.

F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time?
COLTON KEY:
I recommend 'High Hopes' from Panic! At The Disco. This song is a great way to keep the optimism flowing.

F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation?
COLTON KEY:
I recommend 'The Witcher' which is a Netflix original based on the book series by the same name, which also leads to several video games.

F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others:
COLTON KEY:
The virus is affecting everybody in the world but, don’t let that drag you down! The whole world is working together to get through this, so just stay strong and safe. Now is a great time to pick up that new hobby you have been thinking about that you maybe didn’t have time to start before. Be sure to take care of yourself and stay healthy! Once this all passes, we will all come out stronger.
