MODELS REFLECT ISOLATION: ARIF SEMPALA

ARIF SEMPALA, London at Nevs Models

reflecting isolation

F WORD: How have you been dealing with the whole isolation thing?

ARIF SEMPALA: Isolation has been interesting thus far, it’s allowed me to get creative with my time and work on myself and other ambitions. I'm just trying to make the best out of a bad situation by finding positive things to do with my time.

F WORD: What have you been doing to occupy your time and mind?

ARIF SEMPALA: I have been working out and making an enormous amount of TikToks [LOL] @MrSchnack in my name and I can guarantee you'll have a laugh or two. Right now that app consumes my day, it’s allowed me to work on some acting skits that I wanted to try and also entertain myself and others.

F WORD: How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic?

ARIF SEMPALA: I have mixed feelings about 'Coro Coro' - as I call it. I hate the fact people are dying and suffering alone, can’t even be seen by their loved ones and also those who aren’t fortunate enough to make an income right now especially with bills. On the other side, it has allowed me to spend time with family which I never get to do often.

F WORD: What are your thoughts on how the government and the world are dealing with it?

ARIF SEMPALA: In terms of how the government is dealing with it, I think they are being very vague with what we can and can’t do which may end up having a longer-lasting effect on society.

F WORD: What would be your perfect soundtrack for this time?

ARIF SEMPALA: Sam Fischer's 'This City'. I love that song.

F WORD: Can you suggest a movie/series/or book we should check out during isolation?

ARIF SEMPALA: A series on Netflix I’m about to finish is Ozark. I’d definitely recommend if you haven’t watched it.

F WORD: A hopeful statement to encourage others:

ARIF SEMPALA: When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine. Right now it’s a tough time and your mindset is so important, consuming positive things is something I’d recommend. People are dying and suffering so we got to stay strong together and if we can’t find the light, let’s be the light for ourselves and others.

F WORD: Favourite F-word:

ARIF SEMPALA: “Faith” it is something that means a lot to me and keeps me going. ;)
