I HAVE MY OWN HAND TO HOLD

PHOTOGRAPHY + FASHION IEVA LASMANE - FEATURING ADAM & JACOB AT PRM

'I Have My Own Hand To Hold'' delves into the enigmas of identity in the Metropolitan landscape. The project, photographed and styled by photographer and director Ieva Lasmane, is an exploration of how the modern man is constantly surrounded by various stimulations and interests that take up a lot of his time and attention, while still having to present himself in a manner that scarcely requires individual efforts for its ongoing. We've built a mass man who is living in a society fuelled by mass beliefs and values, with his life composed, making it impersonal.

At the same time, human beings do crave human connection while raising the question "Why can’t I stand still?" Ieva goes further by questioning "Why won’t you keep your hand on my shoulder?" which creates a new point of reference when looking at the issue of human connection and male vulnerability. The real connection has become a rarity, as building relationships take time and effort, Ieva's Metropolitan inhabitant just lacks or doesn't want to spare the time needed to establish and build these connections.
