COLLECTION: COLMAR X SHAYNE OLIVER FINAL ACT

After two extreme and fashionably outrageous(ly - good) capsule collections with Italian heritage brand Colmar, New York designer Shayne Oliver unveils his third and final act as the guest designer of Colmar A.G.E. This time around, Hood by Air's king is introducing a more toned down yet fiery collection that continues to exemplify why the two house names are meant to be together.

Style-consciousness is the core element seen in the a-gender collection and references to the urban lifestyles from across the major world metropolis. This final drop is wrapped in black, flame red and electric blue paired with a hi-vis fabric making the color pallet electrifying and bold without losing sight of what contemporary fashion is all about. The color pallet is applied both as detailing and as the actual fabrication of the garments with the rubber patches, a signature of the designer’s A.G.E. collections, are seen throughout on the sleeves and the back of pieces, ranging from jackets to trousers, sweatshirts, and T-shirts in an underground mood.

Oliver is known for being an outlandish yet thorough creative who brings every element of his creations (fabric, design, texture, sound, and image) into perfect harmony and this time, it could not be any different. Shayne enlisted photographer Jordan Hemingway - responsible for capturing the previous 2 collections to capture the final act. The London based artist has previously collaborated with Emporio Armani, Grace Wales Bonner, Gucci, and Roberto Cavalli. For the campaign, the designer and photographer street cast models, who they felt embodied the spirit of the collection.

The collection also sees jackets come in different cuts and lengths which make this drop distinct from the previous two while remaining cohesive with Colmar and Oliver's design vision. Another highlight piece within the collection is the oversized parka quilted with a hood, press studs, and front zip. Each piece seems to be perfectly balanced as if Oliver had meticulously considered every element in play, from texture to length and cut. A bomber jacket comes with a stretch knit collar, waistband, and sleeves, with a light down jacket appearing classic only to reveal that the piece is turned inside out, with the seams exposed. Salopette pants are lightweight with a small pocket on the front. A variety of soft fleece sweatshirts, in different silhouettes, have been elevated with the hi-vis pockets, with the T-shirts reimagined with the statement applied patch telling the story of the unique collaboration between the two worlds of history (Colmar) and visionary (Oliver).

The 14 piece collection will be available from September 2019 through 11 leading stores globally, including Ssense, Luisaviaroma, jofre, Block 60.
